Connecticut Baseball Academy

This years Pro Baseball Academy event will feature defensive and offensive skills. The event will be held on February 21st and 22nd at Sports World in East Windsor, CT from 3:00PM to 5:00PM each day. The facility is 200’ x 400’ and fully astro-turfed while the entire facility is protected by netting allowing us to HIT LIVE, FIELD LIVE GROUND BALLS, THROW and WORK on ALL DEFENSIVE SITUATIONS. Our experienced staff of professional scouts, former professional players, and current professional players will allow each player to learn the drills and skills that it takes to play at the next level.

2008 STAFF

BEN FORD is a 6’7” RHP from Cedar Rapids Iowa. He was Drafted in the 20^th round by the New York Yankees. Ben had three stints in the Big Leagues with the New York Yankees, Arizona Diamond Backs and the Milwaukee Brewers. Ben currently resides in West Palm Beach, Florida.

DAN KENNEDY is a former farmhand of the Chicago Cubs, Baltimore Orioles, and Boston Red Sox Organizations. He is now the Director of Baseball Operations at the CT Baseball Academy and is the Northeast Supervisor for Perfect Game USA. Dan now resides in Manchester, CT.

GOOSE GOZZO is a former Major League Pitcher that spend time with the Mets, Twins, Indians, and Blue Jays. He is now the Director of Baseball Operations at the CT Baseball Academy in Berlin. Goose now resides in Berlin, CT.

STEVE BRAY is currently a player in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. Steve finished up an impressive season last year in AAA Nashville. Steve currently resides in Branford, CT.

JIMMY GONZALEZ was a first round draft pick of the Houston Astros, the 40th player taken overall in the 1991 Major League Draft. He went on to play 14 seasons in professional baseball with the San Diego Padres, Montreal Expos, and New York Mets organizations. Gonzalez has played with players such as Mike Piazza, David Ortiz, Miguel Tejada, and Tony Gwynn and has been instructed by catchers such as Gary Carter and Dave Engle. Jimmy also spent 4 seasons of winter ball in the Dominican Republic, capturing 2 Caribbean Series Titles. Jimmy is a graduate of the Major League Scout School and is currently an Associate Scout for the Boston Red Sox.
